EXPERIMENT: WOULD YOU TAKE AN ATTRACTIVENESS PILL?
Updated: Sep 9, 2020

When you host a weekly podcast, there's a perverse joy to be found in awkward social situations. Why? Because you know that despite the awkwardness, at the very least, you have interesting shit to talk about in your next episode.
Last week, for example, while at a friend's Birthday party, there was a guy... an actor to be precise. A dark, chiselled, stubbled and impossibly good-looking actor.
Annoyingly, I liked the guy. He was nice. Wouldn't it be more satisfying if he was a giant nobhead? Yes. In this week's podcast, inspired by 'Mr Handsome', I asked my listeners a simple question:
"If there was a pill that made you a 10/10 in attractiveness, would you take it? The pill has no side effects. It's 100% safe, and each pill lasts just 30 days."
My ludicrous questioning didn't end there. You see, this was a perfect conundrum for my NEW feature 'Random Human' - where I punch 11 random digits into my phone and ask whichever member of the British public answers the same question. A softly spoken woman answered. She seemed uncertain, and of course, immediately questioned who the hell I was. Despite her initial incredulity, she was receptive to my question, and offered admirable honesty in her answer. Listen to the entire phone call below:
SO, WOULD YOU TAKE THE PILL? HERE ARE SOME LISTENER COMMENTS:
"I've bumbled along [in life] as average, and I'm happy with that. I'd worry I'd attract the wrong type, and people would think I was unapproachable." - Jo
"Is there a discount for a lifetime supply? It would be really nice not to be a minus forever." - Jen
"I would not take the pill! The introvert in me would not cope - coming off the high of all that attention would be too cruel." - Anonymous
